Imperial Arcade

2004
The Imperial Arcade fronts Pitt Street Mall in Sydney, one of the busiest and trendiest retail locations in Australia. Fortunately the owner, Stocklands, realised its previous signage did not project a stylish image.

Directories, wayfinding and under awning illuminated signage all needed to be developed. I was responsible not only for the graphic design, but also for driving the structural look. Glass, stainless steel, architectural fixings and colour were all incorporated as common, unifying elements as well as being vandal resistant.

Although each directory is primarily a custom solution they incorporate system signage elements. This allows wayfinding and logo panels to be rotated by the client and easily replaced as needed. Domed symbols further increase the distinctive, high end look and add a novel touch.
